A Letter from the Principal...

May 10, 2012

Dear Our Lady of Victory Families,

Congratulations to our PTO Scholarship recipients:  Abbey Barnette and Tyler Wuebbolt.  We are proud of you!

It is with mixed emotions that we say goodbye to Mrs. Shelly Kahny, our eighth grade Language Arts teacher.  She has just completed her Masters in Educational Administration and is ready to pursue the next phase of her career.  Next year Mrs. Kahny will be the principal at St. Michael’s School in Sharonville.  As sad as we are to see her go, we are so happy for her and wish her all the best in her new career.

A letter sent from our After School Program Director, Mrs. Cordrey, to families raised some doubt about the future of the After School Program.  I want to reassure you that we will continue to provide quality care for your children at Victory through an After School Program that offers a structured format that is both fun and nurturing.  We know how much parents depend on the After School Program for their children’s care.  We have been pleased to be able to offer the After School Program to our families, and we look forward to continuing to provide this program.

Thank you to our PTO presidents, Mrs. Laura Davitt and Mrs. Erin Flowers, and to the PTO Board and PTO parent volunteers for their help and support this year.  Thank you to our Education Commission president, Mr. Bob Frommeyer, and our Education Commission for their help and leadership this year.  We are so blessed to be able to have such a wonderful school for our children.  We couldn’t do it without the volunteer efforts of so many people.  On behalf of our OLV faculty and staff, we want you to know that we APPRECIATE you!

Please help us to keep our students SAFE!  It’s tempting this time of year to drop off your children in the library lot.  This creates a safety issue as well as a traffic issue on Neeb Road.  A morning walk from the South Lot or the North Lot is a great way to start the day.  Please help us by dropping your children off in the North Lot or the South Lot.   Thanks so much!

Our Junior High students have the opportunity to take elective classes in music, art, technology, and physical education.  Information about electives is coming home with our current sixth and seventh grade students today.  It is due back to school on Tuesday, May 15.

Our National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Induction was last Thursday.  Students selected for the NJHS had to meet high standards in the categories of service, leadership, citizenship, character, and scholarship.  Congratulations to the following students who were inducted into the NJHS:  Nick Albers, Wyatt Albers, Adam Arar, Hannah Back, Andrew Broxterman, Samuel Catania, Andrew Eubanks, Brent Gavin, Julia Gavin, Elizabeth Groh, Eric Groll, Renee Hofmeyer, Erin Klumb, Adrianna Knollman, Maggie Korte, Josh Lammers, Libby Mannix, Molly Martin, Tricia McHale, Emily Mohs, Joseph Monahan, Mya Moser, Renee Niederhausen, Owen Plagge, Solomon Richards, Kristen Stacklin, Sarah Telscher, Kim Tope, Matthew Trotta, Olivia Webber, Bryce Weyler, and Lindsay Wieczorkowski.

Field Day is TOMORROW Friday, May 11.  It’s a day of FUN!!  Students look forward to this day all year.  Students may come out-of-uniform, wearing their Field Day colors.

On May 18, our Student Council sponsors a Blue and Gold Spirit Day.  Students are invited to come

out-of-uniform and wear their Victory spirit colors.

School is not in session on May 21(Festival Clean-up Day) or May 28 (Memorial Day).

Our May School Spirit/Caring and Sharing Day is May 25.

Have a great week!
