The youth ministry program reaches out to all youth of the parish beginning with seventh grade through high school. The goal of the program is to help the youth of the parish to come to a better understanding of their Catholic Faith and to live that faith in the world. In order to achieve this goal, the youth pray together at special times and during each activity, attend regular monthly meetings, perform service projects, and participate in several social outings as well as two weekend retreats, a work camp/mission trip and fundraisers. While doing these, they form new friendships, socialize, develop leadership abilities and a good grounding in true Catholic teachings in order to maturely face peer pressure and the problems of today’s society. The core team, made up of volunteer youth and adults, coordinate parish youth activities. All junior high school age youth are encouraged to join in at least one of the programs and activities. Youth who have been Confirmed can be participants or leaders while those who have not been Confirmed can be participants only. Parents of teens and other adults are encouraged to be active in the group as chaperones or regular volunteers so as to grow in faith along with the teens.
