De-fund Planned Parenthood Now (from Fr. Reutter)

 

Many people know, Planned Parenthood performs more abortions each year than any other agency in the United States.  What many people do not know is that they were funded by a racist eugenicist named Margaret Sanger, who called poor and minority children “human weeds” that needed to be exterminated.  Many people are also unaware is that, despite their grisly and evil “business” of killing the unborn, they remain the largest recipient of federal “Title X” tax funding.  Title X refers to the provision of the Public Health Service Act that supports so-called “family planning” assistance for the poor.

 

Your federal tax dollars are giving almost a third of a billion dollars a year to Planned Parenthood for “family planning services” (including contraception and sterilization), even though they already have over a billion dollars in assets.  While the law technically specifies that this tax money can’t be used to fund abortion, money is “fungible.”  This means that, internally, some of the money which would have gone to pay for Planned Parenthood’s other “services” (such as health exams) can simply be reallocated toward abortion.  For all practical purposes, the tax money you are forced to pay to Planned Parenthood does in fact fund abortion.

 

Pro-lifers have been working for years to end this outrageous situation without much success, but momentum is finally building.  One of the recent catalysts is an exposé of the lies of Planned Parenthood that they are in the business of “helping women.”  In fact, they have recently been caught repeatedly on video tape aiding and abetting people posing as leaders of a sex trafficking ring of teenage girls!
